Nordic Lace Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern

This pretty baby blanket features a traditional Norwegian Fir lace panel with a wide ribbed panel on either side and garter stitch borders on all sides. The lace is uncomplicated and the blanket is a relaxing knit, suitable for a knitter with some experience. Instructions are provided for two sizes and the patterns are both written and charted.

Size 1: 71cm x 81cm (28” x 32”)

Size 2: 81cm x 92cm (32” x 36”) (stitch counts for the larger size are shown in square brackets)

Yarn

Any DK to Worsted weight yarn as long as you get the same or similar gauge (more or less yarn may be required if you work to a different gauge)

Quantity

Size 1 - 350 metres/383 yards

Size 2 - 450 metres/493 yards

Suggested needles: Your preferred needles in size 4mm(US6)

Large blunt sewing needle for finishing loose ends

Gauge

21sts and 28 rows to 10cm (4”) square over stocking stitch using 4mm needle
