Ridge Stripes Baby Hat Knitting Pattern

Make this cute pixie hat for babies from 3 months to around 2 years old. With stripes and simple purl ridges, the pattern is suitable for novice knitters who already know how to cast on, knit and purl. Instructions are included to knit flat (i.e. side to side on single point needles with a seam to sew up at the end) or in the round for a seamless hat.

Yarn

You can use any 4ply (fingering) or 5ply sport weight yarn that knits to the same gauge. You will need 3 contrasting colours and no more than 60m of each colour

Needles & Notions:

Suggested needles: Size 3.25mm (US3) - either single point needles to knit the flat or DPNs/circular needles to knit in the round (depending on your preference)

Large blunt sewing needle

Gauge: 25sts and 34rows over 10cm (4”) in stocking stitch using 3.25mm (US3) needles

Sizes:

3-9 (9-18,18-24) months

Actual finished circumference: 38 (42, 45)cm/15 (16½, 17¾) inches
